Arbor Day

This is our spring celebration in partnership with the City of Coral Gables and our public schools. Our club president shares the podium with city officials, a dais focused on the history of Arbor Day in Coral Gables, the city’s proud legacy as a Tree City USA, and the club’s long Arbor Day history and its stewardship in increasing our canopy.

APRIL 2023

This year's Arbor Day was celebrated at Merrick Park in collaboration with the City of Coral Gables and the Landscape Beautification Advisory Board.  It was a lovely ceremony with the Honor Guard from the City's Fire Department. We planted a Royal Poinciana tree, and Commissioner Rhonda Anderson presented a Proclamation to the Garden for participating in the Arbor Day celebration.

APRIL 2017

This year's Arbor Day was celebrated at Carver Elementary.  Member and Master Gardener Katy Sobrado spoke to the children about Blue Zones. Everglades tomato seeds were distributed with directions on how to plant.

For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver.
