The Coral Gables Garden Club's mission is to educate our members and community in floral design and horticulture. We are fortunate to have beautiful relationships with outstanding Floral Designers, who are delighted to showcase their talents and share some floral design tips at our Floral Extravaganzas. We started this tradition in 2018 with a public event, an internationally known guest floral designer, and lots of goodies to share. We always have a spectacular sparkling reception with food made by our members. It is a lovely experience that members and community members enjoy.

We are now continuing a longstanding tradition of presenting a Flower Show this Spring, which is  open to the public.  The Flower Show displays artistic floral design, horticulture specimens that members have grown, and educational exhibits that will broaden your knowledge of critical environmental and conservation issues affecting our community. Our Passports to Petals Flower Show will be at Fairchild Tropical Gardens this spring.

A 2026 Floral Extravaganza with Mario Fernandez


Join us on November 5, 2026 at 10:00 am, at the Coral Gables Congregational Church for a festive morning of flowers, creativity, and holiday inspiration!

Mario Fernandez of Belle FleurInternationally renowned floral designer, educator, and honorary member of the Coral Gables Garden Club, Mario Fernandez, and his colleague Ivan Garcia will share their extraordinary talent, along with tips and tricks of the trade. His spectacular designs will be holiday-inspired and created to celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday.

Mario has been a cherished supporter of the Coral Gables Garden Club for more than 15 years. His presentations are always a delight, filled with humor, grace, generosity, and of course, breathtaking flowers.

Over the years, Mario’s floral artistry has graced the homes and events of numerous celebrities and distinguished figures, including Oprah Winfrey, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Celine Dion, Luis Miguel, Arturo Sandoval, Alonzo Mourning, Dwyane Wade, and Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush and their families, among many others.

Come join the fun and let Mario’s magnificent creations set the mood for the holiday season! Enjoy a nice lunch, a bake sale, a fabulous raffle, music from our member, internationally known pianist Marina Berberian, and more.

We’re excited to bring our community together for a special event that fulfills our mission to educate the public about the art of flower design.

The Marlene Kerdyk Beautification Fund is a beautiful tribute to a remarkable woman who loved flowers, flower arranging, and the beauty they bring to our community. This fund was created in 2018 by the Kerdyk family in honor of their beloved mother. Marlene Kerdyk was a devoted longtime member of the Coral Gables Garden Club and a true pillar of a family whose name has long been synonymous with service to our city. We are deeply grateful to the Kerdyk family for their continued generosity and support.
