The Coral Gables Garden Club's mission is to educate our members and community in floral design and horticulture. We are fortunate to have beautiful relationships with outstanding Floral Designers, who are delighted to showcase their talents and share some floral design tips at our Floral Extravaganzas. We started this tradition in 2018 with a public event, an internationally known guest floral designer, and lots of goodies to share. We always have a spectacular sparkling reception with food made by our members. It is a lovely experience that members and community members enjoy.

A Weekend at the Museum

A spectacular flower show featuring floral designs and horticulture with the theme of international museums. This flower show was held at the Coral Gables Museum, kicking off our always-fantastic Fashions and Florals event.

2023 The City Beautiful Flower Show


This April 2023 flower show – considered a small standard flower show – had 3 divisions: horticulture, floral design, and an educational component. Each division had separate classes. Sharon Trbovich was the general chairman for "The City Beautiful" flower show.

2022 Floral Extravaganza with Mario Fernandez


Internationally renowned floral designer, educator, and honorary member of the Coral Gables Garden Club, Mario Fernandez, and his colleague Ivan Garcia sshared their extraordinary talent, along with tips and tricks of the trade. 

Mario has been a cherished supporter of the Coral Gables Garden Club for more than 15 years. His presentations are always a delight, filled with humor, grace, generosity, and of course, breathtaking flowers.

Over the years, Mario’s floral artistry has graced the homes and events of numerous celebrities and distinguished figures, including Oprah Winfrey, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Celine Dion, Luis Miguel, Arturo Sandoval, Alonzo Mourning, Dwyane Wade, and Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush and their families, among many others.

2021 Floral Extravaganza with Parrish Designs of London


Originally from London, Kathryn Parrish has been designing social and corporate events in South Florida and the Caribbean for more than 25 years. She and her team are dedicated to personal service, working closely with clients to create truly individualized events. We were delighted to have another successful public event with Internationally renowned floral designer and educator Kathryn Parish.

Thanks to our Co- Chairs, Susan Rodriguez and Betsy Tilghman, and their committee, we had fabulous raffles, a delectable bake sale, and a lovely sparkling reception. Kathryn truly outdid herself with designs that would be every homeowner's dream, and they were all raffled at the end.

2018 Floral Extravaganza with Floral Designer & Author Sybil Sylvester


In the fall of 2018 we welcomed Birmingham, Alabama’s talented Sybil Sylvester, owner of Wildflower Designs, and author of Fresh, her stunning floral design book. Sybil beguiled a full house with her southern charm and beautifully conceived floral arrangements.
